In an academic research environment, machine shops pose a unique set of challenges in terms of risks to users and administrators.  The Machine Shop Safety for Academic Departments program provides guidance to all employees and students at the University of Michigan-Dearborn who work with machining tools and equipment, to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
