Readmission
Learn about readmission to UM-Dearborn.
Students who were previously enrolled as degree-seeking students, did not graduate from UM-Dearborn, and have not registered for any courses at UM-Dearborn during a 12-month period must apply for readmission in order to resume studies here. Students should complete the online Readmission form. The submission deadlines are posted on the CASL Advising home page. This deadline exists to ensure that readmit students can receive accurate advising prior to registration. Readmission forms cannot be submitted after the deadline.
Students who are approved for readmission must meet with a CASL advisor prior to registration. A hold will be placed on the student's record that will prevent registration. That hold will be lifted during the appointment.
If you took courses at another college or university while you were away from UM-Dearborn you should submit an unofficial transcript with your Readmission form. After readmission, you will have a registration hold until an official transcript is received. Have the official transcript sent directly to Undergraduate Admissions at [email protected].
Readmission Application Deadlines
Deadline for 2025 Winter Semester is: Sunday, December 15, 2024.
CASL Advising will begin reviewing Winter 2024 semester applications October 1, 2024.
Classes begin on Monday, January 6, 2025.

As a readmitted student, you are subject to follow the current catalog year for your degree. Below is a link to the Undergraduate Catalog for more information regarding current degree requirements.
If you completed courses at another college or university while you were away from UM-Dearborn you should submit an unofficial transcript with your Readmission form. After readmission, you will have a registration hold until an official transcript is received. Readmitted students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment with a CASL Academic Advisor to discuss current degree requirements. To schedule an appointment, please call us at 313-593-5293 or email us at [email protected], or self-schedule through your student portal. Please provide the following information:
- Your name
- UMID
- Your umich email
- The reason for the appointment
- Preference for virtual or phone appointment
- Several days/times you are available for appointment
Readmitted students may need to reactivate their student account in order to access their UMICH email account and student portal. To reactivate your student account, please contact Information Technology Services (ITS).

Readmitted students may have registration holds on their account preventing them from registering such as Student Accounts holds. Students can access information regarding registration holds in their student portal. If you have questions regarding registration holds, please contact an Academic Advisor.
